A radiant cut lab grown diamond held at its cropped corners by four claws on a knife edge band, with nothing else added. No halo, no hidden halo, no pave, no accent stones. A knife edge shank is not flat or domed. It is worked to a fine ridge along its centre line so the two faces angle away from each other like the back of a blade, and that ridge catches a single bright line of light along the whole length of the finger. It is a harder profile to make well than a plain round shank because the ridge has to stay perfectly straight and centred, and any unevenness shows immediately. Paired with a radiant cut, which is itself all straight lines and cropped corners, the whole ring reads as sharp and geometric. E colour, VVS2 clarity, free IGI certificate. Band details

A knife edge band, tapered to a fine central ridge with the two faces angling away from it. No stones, engraving or milgrain anywhere on the shank. The gallery beneath the stone is left open so light passes through from below.

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. A knife edge depends entirely on the highlight running along its ridge, so polished white gold and sterling silver, as photographed, give the sharpest effect. Yellow and rose gold soften that line into a warm glow along the finger.

What is a knife edge band?
A shank tapered to a fine ridge along its centre rather than left flat or rounded. The two angled faces reflect light differently, so a bright line runs along the ridge. It looks sharper and more architectural than a plain band and makes a narrow shank appear even finer.

Is a knife edge comfortable?
Yes. The ridge is on the outside of the ring. The inner surface against your finger is smooth and rounded exactly like any other band.

What is a radiant cut?
A rectangular stone with cropped corners like an emerald cut, but faceted as a brilliant underneath. It gives the clean geometric outline of a step cut with the sparkle of a round.

Will it sit flush with a wedding band?
A knife edge meets a flat band along its ridge rather than face to face, so there can be a small gap. Many people pair this profile with a matching knife edge wedding band, and we can make one to fit.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
