A radiant cut lab grown diamond held in four claws on a plain slim band, with nothing else on the ring. The radiant is the reason this works stripped back. It has the rectangular outline and cropped corners of an emerald cut but is faceted like a brilliant underneath, so it holds the architectural shape people want from a step cut while still throwing the fine scattered fire of a round. That combination fills the ring on its own. Adding pave or a halo would only compete with the faceting, so the shank is left as a clean unbroken line of polished metal and the stone does all the work. With no accent stones anywhere on the ring the metal colour is the only other decision you make. Yellow and rose gold frame the radiant warmly, white gold keeps the whole piece cool and lets the stone read as large as possible. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and keeps a plain polished band free of dents for longer.

Frequently asked questions

What is a radiant cut?
A rectangular stone with cropped corners like an emerald cut, but faceted like a brilliant underneath. It gives you the clean architectural outline of a step cut with the sparkle of a round, which is why it suits a setting with no other stones.

How is it different from an emerald cut?
The outline is similar but the faceting is not. An emerald cut has long parallel steps and produces broad mirror flashes. A radiant has many small triangular facets and produces fine scattered fire, and it hides inclusions far better as a result.

Is a plain band harder to pair with a wedding ring?
No, it is the easiest. There is no pave to match up against and the shank is straight, so almost any band sits flush beside it.

Does a radiant look bigger than an emerald cut of the same weight?
Usually slightly smaller face up, because a radiant carries more weight in its depth to support the brilliant faceting. It compensates with considerably more sparkle.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.

How long does it take to make?
