Radiant Cut Lab Grown Diamond Ring on a Fine Micro Pave Shank

A radiant cut lab grown diamond in four claws on a narrow band set with micro pave, the accents small enough that the shank reads as a line of continuous light rather than as a row of individual stones. Nothing else is added to the design.

There is a floor below which making pave stones smaller stops helping. A round brilliant returns light by bouncing it between its pavilion facets and out through the crown, and those facets need a certain physical size to separate white light into the coloured flashes we call fire. Somewhere below about one millimetre in diameter the facets become too small to do that reliably, and the stone starts behaving less like a diamond and more like a bright white dot. It still sparkles, but it sparkles the way glass does. The practical consequence is that the best micro pave is not the finest possible pave: it is pave set with stones held just above that threshold, roughly one to one and a third millimetres, packed as closely as the metal allows. That is what is used here. The row looks continuous from a normal viewing distance but every individual stone in it is still large enough to throw colour rather than only brightness.

Band details

The shank is narrow and flat topped so the pave sits in a straight line across the top of the band rather than curving out of view. The lower half is left plain, which keeps the ring comfortable and makes resizing straightforward.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is shown in the photographs, which is the usual choice for micro pave because a neutral metal between densely set stones disappears and the row reads as unbroken.

Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It is carbon in the same crystal structure as a mined diamond, with the same hardness and the same optical properties, graded on the same scales.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Is smaller pave always better
No. Below roughly one millimetre a brilliant's facets are too small to separate light into colour, so the stone reads as a white dot. We set just above that size.

Do micro pave stones fall out
Not when properly set. Each sits in a cut seat under raised beads of the band's own metal. We inspect and tighten the row free of charge whenever the ring comes in for cleaning.

What is a radiant cut
A cut cornered rectangle faceted like a brilliant rather than a step cut, giving the outline of an emerald cut with the fire of a round.

Can this ring be resized
Yes. The lower half of the shank is plain, so resizing is done in clean metal.

How long does the ring take to make
Each ring is made to order. Production usually takes twelve to sixteen working days before dispatch.
