Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond? Yes. A lab grown diamond has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it is grown in a laboratory rather than extracted from the earth. It is graded by the same laboratories using the same criteria.

What color and clarity are the diamonds in this ring? The radiant cut centre stone and every pave accent are E color and VVS2 clarity, so the band and the centre read as one continuous colourless line.

What does crushed ice mean? It describes the interior faceting of the radiant. Many small facets break light into fine glittering points rather than a few broad flashes. Crushed ice hides inclusions well and sparkles busily rather than boldly.

What is the difference between a radiant and an emerald cut? They share the same rectangular outline with trimmed corners, but the faceting is opposite. An emerald cut is a step cut with long open facets and broad flashes. A radiant is brilliant faceted, so it sparkles far more actively while keeping the same silhouette.

Is a pave band harder to resize? The accents sit along the shoulders rather than the full circle, so resizing is done at the plain section at the back. We can usually move two sizes either way, and since every ring is made to order it is simpler to tell us your size up front.

Does this ring come with certification? Yes. Every center stone ships with an IGI certificate at no additional charge. IGI is one of the largest independent gemological laboratories grading lab grown diamonds.
