Using pears rather than rounds or trapezoids for the sides means the trio repeats one shape three times at three scales, and the outward facing points stretch the setting sideways so the whole head reads wider than the centre stone alone. The shoulders are cathedral, meaning the shank rises in an arch to meet the setting rather than joining it flat, which lifts the stones and leaves an open space beneath them that light passes through. What is a cathedral setting?
A setting where the shoulders of the band rise in an arch to meet the head, like the arches of a cathedral, instead of joining the setting flat. It lifts the stones, adds height and lets light in from underneath.

Why pear side stones instead of rounds?
Repeating the centre stone's shape at a smaller scale keeps the design coherent, and the outward facing points draw the eye along the finger so the whole setting looks longer and wider than it is.

What does a trilogy ring mean?

Are pear points fragile?
