Most trilogy designs contrast the centre with rounds or trapezoids, but here all three stones are pears, and because the two smaller ones point away from the middle rather than toward it, the head spreads outward in both directions like a small open wing. Three pointed stones need fine V claws at each tip, so the metal shows as small precise marks rather than broad areas. Yellow and rose gold pick those out warmly, white gold makes the three stones merge into one wide spread of diamond. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and better protects three fine V claws.
