Pear Cut Lab Grown Diamond Three Claw Hidden Halo Pave Ring

A pear cut lab grown diamond held in only three claws above a hidden halo, with pave along both shoulders. Three is the minimum a pear can be set with, and it is a deliberate choice rather than an economy. A V shaped claw wraps the point where the stone is vulnerable, and two more grip the widest part of the curve near the base. The entire length of both shoulders of the stone is left completely uncovered, so the outline of the pear runs from tip to base without a single interruption. Most pears are set with five claws for reassurance, and they look it. This one shows more diamond and less metal than any other pear we make. Beneath it a hidden halo adds light at the girdle. Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. With only three claws there is very little metal crossing the stone, so the colour reads mainly at the shoulders and in the hidden halo. Yellow and rose gold mark the three claw positions clearly against the diamond, white gold makes them all but vanish. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K, which matters more than usual when only three claws carry the stone.

Frequently asked questions

Are three claws enough to hold a pear?
Yes, when properly made. Three points of contact are geometrically sufficient to hold any stone, and the V claw at the tip does the critical work of protecting the point. We recommend 14K over 18K for daily wear on this design, and our lifetime prong check covers it.

Why choose three claws over five?
Because both long shoulders of the pear stay completely uncovered, so the silhouette runs unbroken from tip to base. It is the least metal you can put on a pear, and it makes the stone look larger and cleaner.

Is the point of a pear vulnerable?
It is the one part that can chip, which is why the tip here sits inside a V shaped claw that covers it completely. This is standard on every pear we set, whatever the claw count.

What is a hidden halo?
A ring of small diamonds set around the underside of the centre stone, below the girdle. It is invisible from above and only appears from the side, adding light where the setting would otherwise be solid metal.

Which way should a pear point?
Most people wear it with the point toward the fingernail, which visually lengthens the finger. It is entirely personal and the ring can be worn either way.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.
