A pear cut lab grown diamond inside a full halo, carried on cathedral shoulders, with pave down the band and a spoked gallery underneath. The underside is what sets this one apart from other pear halos. Rather than an open basket or a plain closed back, the metal beneath the halo is cut into radiating spokes that fan outward from a central point toward the rim, so turning the ring over reveals a pattern like the ribs of a shell or the spokes of a wheel. It is only visible to the person wearing it, which is precisely the point of a finished gallery. Above it the cathedral shoulders arch up to meet the halo, giving the ring height and a defined side profile. E colour, VVS2 clarity throughout, free IGI certificate for the centre stone. The spoked gallery is solid metalwork, so it reads most clearly in yellow or rose gold where the radiating ribs catch light against the shadow between them. White gold keeps the underside quiet and puts all the emphasis on the halo above. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds halo and pave stones more securely.

What is a spoked gallery?
The metal beneath the halo is cut into ribs that radiate outward from a central point, like the spokes of a wheel. It is a decorative finish on the underside of the ring, visible when the ring is turned over or removed.

Why does the underside matter?
It is the part only the wearer sees. A finished gallery is the traditional mark of a ring made properly all the way round rather than only where it shows, and many people choose a ring specifically for it.

What is a cathedral setting?
Shoulders that arch upward from the band to meet the head, like the vaulted arches of a cathedral. They raise the halo and give the ring a defined side profile.

How much bigger does the halo make the stone look?
Typically the head reads one to two carats larger than the centre stone measured alone.

Will a wedding band sit flush?
Not completely, because the halo is wider than the shank and the shoulders arch. A contoured band that curves around the point solves this and we can shape one to match.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
