A pear cut moissanite in six claws with three accent stones arranged on each shoulder: two round brilliants set one above the other close to the centre, then a single marquise moissanite pointing outward along the finger. The two sides mirror each other exactly, and the group tapers away neatly into a plain, slim polished band.

The arrangement widens the head without adding a halo. Because the marquise points outward, the whole setting reads as a long horizontal shape, which balances the vertical line of the pear and stops the ring looking top heavy.

Why the point is protected

The tip of a pear is the most vulnerable part of the shape. Ours sits under a claw that wraps around it rather than a plain prong resting on top. It is the difference between a point that survives a decade of daily wear and one that chips on a door frame in the first year, and it is not something we treat as optional.

How it compares to our other pear rings with side stones

Every design is listed separately. Our marquise and round cluster ring uses the same two shapes but scatters them at uneven heights and different sizes, which reads as informal and organic. This one is the disciplined version of the same idea: three stones per side, mirrored, in a fixed order. Our wide mosaic band packs many more stones onto a band twice as thick. If you want side stones that look deliberate rather than sprinkled, this is the one.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold, shown here, separates the metal from the colorless stones most clearly; white gold lets the accents merge into the band so the whole head reads as one bright shape. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. Symmetry is the whole point of this design and also the hard part: the two sides have to match within a fraction of a millimetre or the eye picks it up immediately. Our setter works both shoulders alternately rather than finishing one and then the other.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working under the accent stones where residue collects. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Have the claws checked once a year, with particular attention to the tip claws on the two marquise stones, which are the smallest on the ring.

Resizing

The back half of the shank is plain, so this ring resizes comfortably by two sizes or more in either direction without disturbing any setting.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond.

Do the marquise points catch on things? They sit low and their tip claws are filed flush, so in practice no more than any claw setting. A marquise point is the part to have checked at your annual inspection.

Which way does the pear point? Toward the fingertip as standard, which is what lengthens the finger. Tell us in the order notes if you want it the other way.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? Yes. The accents finish well before the back of the shank, so a straight band meets plain metal. There will be a small gap under the point of the pear.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
