Pear Cut Moissanite Hand Engraved Vintage Leaf Vine Engagement Ring

A pear cut moissanite held in six claws, with a V shaped claw protecting the point, above a band cut all the way round with a scrolling leaf and vine pattern. Tiny round moissanite sit flush in bezels dotted through the engraving, so they read as points of light within the pattern rather than as a row of pave. Both edges of the band carry a fine milgrain line that frames the whole thing.

The effect is closer to an antique ring than to anything modern. The engraving catches light in short bright flickers as the hand moves, and the flush set accents keep the band lively without competing with the centre stone. In yellow gold, shown here, the shadow inside the carved lines is what makes the pattern read from a distance.

Why the point is protected

The tip of a pear is the most vulnerable part of the shape. Ours sits under a V shaped claw that wraps around it rather than a single prong resting on top. It is the difference between a point that survives a decade of daily wear and one that chips on a door frame in the first year, and it is not something we treat as optional.

How it compares to our other vintage pear rings

Every design is listed separately, and several of ours use engraving. This one carries a continuous leaf and vine pattern with flush accents set inside the carving. Others in our range use sculpted metal leaves that stand proud of the band, or a plain engraved shank with no stones in it at all, or claw set accents scattered across a smooth surface. Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Engraving shows most clearly in yellow gold and rose gold, where the carved shadows are darker; in white gold the pattern is softer and more subtle. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. The vine is cut by hand with a graver after the band is formed and before the accents go in, which is why no two of these rings are identical under a loupe. A machine rolled pattern is faster and cheaper; it also looks like a machine rolled pattern.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, giving extra attention to the carved grooves where lotion and soap collect. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive polishes on the engraving, which soften the crisp edges over time. We can recut and refresh the pattern years from now if you ever want it sharpened.

Resizing

The engraving runs the full circumference, so resizing means recutting the pattern where the band is joined. We can adjust by roughly one to two sizes and blend the join, but a large change is best handled by remaking. Contact us if you are unsure of your size and we will help you measure before we start.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond.

Will the engraving wear away? The high points soften over decades of wear, which most people find flattering. The pattern itself does not disappear, and we can sharpen it if you want.

Which way does the pear point? Toward the fingertip as standard, which is what lengthens the finger. Tell us in the order notes if you want it the other way.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? Yes, though a straight band will leave a small gap under the point of the pear. A band with a shallow curve, or one worn below the ring rather than above it, sits better.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
