Pear Cut Moissanite Emerald Leaf and Vine Engagement Ring

A pear cut moissanite in six claws above a shank that splits into curling vine branches. Marquise cut natural green emeralds are set along those branches as leaves, and fine micropave rows of round moissanite run down the open loops of the vine between them. The green sits directly against warm metal and colorless stones, which is where all the drama in this ring comes from.

It is the only design in our pear range that uses a coloured stone, and it changes the whole character. Instead of reading as an engagement ring with a botanical motif, it reads as a piece of foliage with a stone at the centre of it.

About the emeralds, honestly

The green leaves are natural emerald. Emerald is 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, softer than the moissanite around it at 9.25, and natural emerald is almost always internally included; those inclusions are normal and are part of what identifies the stone as genuine rather than a flaw we are hiding. In practical terms it means this ring needs slightly more care than an all moissanite one. Never clean it in an ultrasonic or steam cleaner, and take it off before anything that risks a hard knock. Cared for sensibly it will last a lifetime; treated like an indestructible ring it will not.

How it compares to our other botanical pear rings

Every design is listed separately. Our sculpted vine and leaf ring uses the same idea but sets colorless marquise moissanite as the leaves on a solid slim band, so it is quieter and entirely one stone type. Our hand engraved vintage leaf and vine ring cuts foliage into the metal instead of building it up. This is the only one with green stones and the only one where the shank actually opens into separate branches.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold, shown here, gives the strongest contrast with the green; white gold and silver make the emeralds read cooler and sharper. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. The emeralds are set last and with less pressure than the moissanite around them, because a softer stone will chip under a claw closed too hard. Emeralds also vary naturally in tone from stone to stone, so the exact green in your ring will not be pixel identical to the photograph.

Care

Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a very soft brush, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use an ultrasonic cleaner, a steam cleaner, or any solvent, all of which can damage emerald. Avoid household bleach and chlorinated pool water. Have the claws over both the centre stone and the emeralds checked once a year.

Resizing

The back of the shank is plain, so we can resize by one to two sizes. Because the vine branches are worked metal with stones set into them, a larger change is better handled by remaking. Please contact us before ordering if you are unsure of your size.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. The centre and all the colorless accents are moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond. The green leaves are natural emerald.

Are the emeralds treated? Most emeralds on the market, including ours, have their surface reaching fissures filled with oil or resin. This is standard and accepted practice for the gem, but it is another reason not to use ultrasonic cleaning or solvents, which can strip the filler.

Can I have colorless stones instead of the emeralds? Not on this listing, but our sculpted vine and leaf ring is close to that idea and is listed separately.

Which way does the pear point? Toward the fingertip as standard, which is what lengthens the finger. Tell us in the order notes if you want it the other way.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? The vine branches spread wide and sit unevenly, so a straight band will not meet them flush. A contoured band, or wearing this one alone, is the better answer.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
