Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond

Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale, the same refractive index and the same fire and brilliance as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it was grown in a controlled laboratory over a few weeks instead of underground over billions of years. No jeweller can tell the difference by eye, only specialist equipment reading growth patterns can separate the two.

Does this ring come with a certificate

Yes. Every ring ships with a free IGI certificate for the centre stone. IGI is the International Gemological Institute, one of the largest independent diamond grading laboratories in the world. The certificate confirms the carat weight, the E colour grade, the VVS2 clarity grade and the laboratory grown origin. There is no extra charge for the certificate.

Can a twisted band be resized

Yes, but within a narrower range than a plain band, because the twist and the accent stones limit how much metal can be cut and rejoined cleanly. We can usually move a twisted shank one to one and a half sizes either way. That is why we would rather get the size right at production, so contact us before ordering if you are unsure and we will help you measure.

Will a wedding band sit flush against this ring

A straight band will leave a small gap because the pear point extends down over the finger. Most customers pair this design either with a curved or chevron band that follows the point, or with a matching twisted band that echoes the shank. We make both to order and can match the twist exactly to your engagement ring.

Is the point of a pear cut diamond fragile

The tip is the one part of a pear that needs protecting, which is why we set it under a V shaped prong rather than a plain claw. The V wraps the point on both sides and shields it from knocks. Set that way a pear cut is perfectly practical for daily wear.

What does E colour VVS2 actually mean

E colour is the second highest grade on the diamond colour scale and sits inside the colourless range, so the diamond looks bright white with no warm or yellow tint. VVS2 means very very slightly included, the second highest clarity tier. Any inclusions are so small that a trained grader needs 10x magnification to find them and they are completely invisible to the naked eye.

Every piece is made to order, so nothing is pulled off a shelf. Production takes about 10 to 12 working days and shipping is 3 to 5 working days after that with tracked international courier. We accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of delivery on unworn pieces in original condition.
