A flat band six millimetres across, with two step cut baguettes channel set into each shoulder so their tops sit level with the surrounding metal. This is the widest band we make in the oval range and it is meant to be substantial.

Pricing note

Our standard prices are built on a band of up to 2 mm. This one is 6 mm, so a width surcharge of 200 dollars in silver and 800 dollars in gold is already included in the prices shown. That is four millimetre steps at our published rate and it reflects real material cost: a 6 mm band in 18K gold uses well over twice the metal of a 2 mm one. Nothing is added at checkout.

Why baguettes on a band this wide

A baguette is a step cut, so it gives long clean flashes rather than sparkle. On a broad flat surface that restraint matters. A wide band covered in round pave looks busy; four baguettes read as a deliberate line and leave most of the metal to speak for itself.

The channel also protects them. Corners are the weak point of any step cut, and here the metal wall covers them completely.

How it compares

Our channel set pave flat band ring uses small rounds along a narrower flat band. This one is far wider and swaps the rounds for step cuts, so it is much bolder and considerably quieter at the same time.

The other wide band we make

Wearing and stacking

Honestly, most people wear this one alone. At 6 mm it already occupies the space a ring and a band would together. A wide band suits a longer finger and can visually shorten a short one, which is worth knowing before you order.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. Getting a broad flat band truly flat and truly even is slow work and it is the part of this ring that takes longest. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 7 to 10 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Brush along the channels. A flat polished band shows fingerprints more than a rounded one, so an occasional polish with a jewellery cloth keeps it bright. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

How many accent stones are there
Four, two on each shoulder.

Can this ring be resized
Only within a narrow range. There is a great deal more metal to work than on a thin band and the channels must stay continuous. Please take the sizing seriously.

Is a 6 mm band uncomfortable
We round and polish the inner edges so it does not bite. It feels different from a thin ring rather than worse, though it is harder to pass over an enlarged knuckle.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.

Which finger sizes are available
Sizes 3 to 13 including half sizes. Message us before ordering if you need something outside that range.
