A single oval moissanite in four slim claw prongs, set on a band that has been hand engraved with a flowing scroll pattern and edged in milgrain beading on both sides. There are no side stones at all. Everything that makes this ring interesting is cut into the metal, which is how engagement rings were finished in the early twentieth century before pave became the default. The shoulders rise slightly to meet the head in a low cathedral, and the engraving continues around most of the shank rather than stopping at the shoulders. Design and craftsmanship

The scroll pattern is cut into the metal with a graver rather than cast in, so the lines have crisp bright edges that catch light the way a facet does. A row of fine milgrain beading runs along both rims of the band and frames the engraving. Because there are no small stones, this is a ring that stays clean, never needs a bead check, and suits anyone who wants an antique look without extra maintenance. Band width is about 2 mm. Each piece is engraved and finished by hand at our bench in Surat, so no two are exactly identical.

How moissanite compares to a diamond

Moissanite is silicon carbide, not carbon, so it is a different material from a diamond rather than a lower grade of one. It measures 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond at 10, which makes it hard wearing and well suited to daily use. Its refractive index is higher than a diamond, so it returns more colored fire, which is the quality most buyers notice first. On a plain engraved band the centre stone has nothing to compete with, so that fire is especially visible. This ring is sold as moissanite and is never described as a diamond.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, is the most historically accurate choice and gives the engraving the strongest shadow and depth. Rose gold gives a softer antique tone. White gold reads more like a platinum era piece from the 1920s. For everyday wear 14K is harder and keeps engraving crisp longer than 18K, and 925 sterling silver is the most affordable way to try the design.

Ring size

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. We make US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes. Because the engraving runs around the band, resizing later means re engraving the affected section, so ordering the correct size at the outset matters with this design. Is this a moissanite ring or a diamond ring?
It is a moissanite engagement ring. The centre stone is lab created moissanite and the ring is sold as moissanite. We never describe it as a diamond.

Is the engraving really done by hand?
Yes. The scroll is cut with a hand graver after casting, which is why the cuts are bright and sharp rather than soft and rounded the way a cast pattern looks.

Will the engraving wear away?
Over many years of daily wear the highest points of any engraved band soften slightly. This is normal and most people like the effect. We can recut the pattern at any time.

Why are there no side stones?
Because this design belongs to an older tradition where the band was decorated with metalwork rather than pave. It also makes the ring lower maintenance and easier to keep clean.

Can I add an engraved wedding band to match?
Yes. We make a matching engraved band in the same pattern and metal. Contact us with your ring size.

Does moissanite scratch or cloud over time?
No. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale it resists scratching from ordinary contact, and its brilliance comes from the material itself rather than a coating, so it cannot wear off.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working into the engraved lines and milgrain where polish residue collects. Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days because the engraving is done by hand, plus shipping time.
