Oval Moissanite Swirl Knot Halo Twisted Pave Engagement Ring

The halo on this ring is not a ring of stones. It is two pave set ribbons that wrap around the oval and cross over each other at the top and bottom, the way the outer petals of a rose fold around its centre. Where they overlap, one ribbon passes in front and the other disappears behind the stone.

The shoulders continue the idea, twisting as they run back so the pave never presents a flat face for long.

How it compares

Every other halo we make encircles the stone once at a constant distance. This one wraps past itself and changes height as it goes, so the halo has a front and a back rather than being flat. It is the most three dimensional head in the range and the hardest of our halos to photograph, which is why the side views matter on this one.

Wearing and stacking

The ribbons cross at the bottom of the oval, directly where a wedding band would sit. A curved band is necessary here; a straight one will not meet the ring.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. The two ribbons are formed and set separately, then joined at the crossing points, because a single cast piece cannot be pave set cleanly where it doubles back over itself. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 14 to 18 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Brush from above and from both sides. The overlaps create sheltered pockets that a single direction of brushing will miss. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Does the halo sit higher than a normal one
Yes, at the crossing points. Elsewhere it sits at about the height of a standard halo.

Can this ring be resized
By about half a size. Pave runs well down the shoulders.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
