This is a botanical ring with no accent stones at all. The decoration is carved into the metal itself. On each shoulder the band divides into a slim vine that curls under and over, and from it a pair of polished leaves lifts away from the shank, one pointing toward the centre stone and one turning back down the finger.

Because everything is metal, the ring reads very differently from a pave botanical design. In yellow or rose gold the leaves show as warm, rounded shapes with real depth of shadow. In white gold they read almost like carved silver. Either way the only thing that sparkles is the oval.

How it compares

Our marquise leaf and petal cluster rings use small stones to suggest foliage. Here the foliage is the metal. That makes the ring quieter, cheaper to maintain since there is no pave to check, and better suited to anyone who wants a nature inspired design without extra sparkle.

Wearing and stacking

The leaves stand slightly proud of the shank, so a straight wedding band will not sit perfectly flush against the shoulders. A curved or open band, or wearing this ring on its own, suits the shape best.

Care

Warm water, mild dish soap and a soft brush. Polished metal leaves will pick up fine surface marks over years of wear, which a jeweller can polish out, and many people prefer the softened look that develops.

Are there any small stones on the band
No. The leaves and vine are solid metal. The oval is the only stone on the ring.

Which metal shows the leaves best
Yellow and rose gold, because warm metal holds shadow and makes the carving read more clearly. White gold gives a cooler, more sculptural look.

Can this ring be resized
Yes. The back of the band is plain, so a jeweller can size it without touching the vine work.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
