Oval Moissanite Pear Cluster Milgrain Pave Engagement Ring

Beside the oval, on each side, sits a small cluster of pear cut and round accents arranged like a fan. Past the cluster the shoulders carry a line of pave, and the outer edges of the band are finished with milgrain beading that runs all the way to the back.

The beading is what makes this design read as antique rather than modern. It catches light along the edge of the metal even where there are no stones.

How it compares

Our marquise and pear wing design sweeps its accents upward away from the band. Here the cluster stays tight beside the centre stone and the band takes over with pave and beading, so the ring is busier along the finger and calmer at the head. Our plain milgrain engraved band has beading but no accents at all.

Wearing and stacking

The clusters sit low. A curved wedding band follows the outline of the head better than a straight one.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. Milgrain is rolled by hand with a knurling wheel after the stones are set, which is the only way to keep the beads even around a band that already carries pave. Allow 10 to 14 working days for this design.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Milgrain traps polish residue, so brush along the beading rather than across it. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Does milgrain wear down over time
Slowly, over many years of daily wear. It can be re cut by any bench jeweller when it softens.

How many accent stones are there
Around forty in total across the two clusters and the pave shoulders.

Can this ring be resized
By about one size. The milgrain runs the full circle, so larger changes mean recutting the beading.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
