Two round moissanites sit tight against the centre oval, one above and one below the finger line, and a pear points outward past them along the shank. Design and craftsmanship

A cluster like this only works if the stones sit at slightly different heights. The two rounds tuck under the shoulder of the oval, so their tables angle inward; the pears sit lower and flatter, following the curve of the shank as it drops away. Our setters build each seat at its own angle rather than cutting one flat row, which is why the cluster reads as a natural spray instead of a stiff line. The pears are oriented with their points facing outward and their tips tucked into a protective prong, the standard way to guard the most fragile part of a pear cut. How moissanite compares to a diamond

Moissanite is silicon carbide, a different material from diamond rather than a lower grade of one. It measures 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond at 10, which makes it hard enough for everyday wear. Its refractive index is higher, so it throws more coloured fire, and a cluster of mixed shapes shows this well because each cut catches light at a different angle. This ring is sold as moissanite and is never described as a diamond.

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, warms the cluster and makes the individual prongs read as part of the design. White gold lets the six accents blend into the centre stone for a wider all over sparkle. Rose gold gives the softest contrast. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds fine prongs better, and 925 sterling silver is the most affordable way to try the design.

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. We make US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes. The band is plain below the cluster, so it can be resized later without touching any stone.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a moissanite ring or a diamond ring?
It is a moissanite engagement ring. The centre stone and all six accents are lab created moissanite, and the ring is sold as moissanite. We never describe it as a diamond.

How is this different from a three stone ring?
A three stone ring has one large accent on each side. This design uses three smaller stones per side in a spray, so the head looks wider and softer while each individual accent stays modest.

Does it look bigger than a solitaire?
Yes. The cluster extends the width of the setting well past the centre stone, so a 2 carat oval in this ring covers noticeably more finger than the same oval in a plain solitaire.

Are the pear tips likely to chip?
The point of each pear is covered by a prong, which is the standard protection for that cut. Moissanite at 9.25 on the Mohs scale also resists chipping better than most coloured gemstones.

Will a wedding band sit flush?
Not completely. The pears extend down along the shank, so a straight band will meet them. A gently contoured band or a slightly curved band sits best, and we can make one to match.

Which centre size suits this setting?
All four work. At 2 and 3 carat the cluster is a strong part of the look; at 4 and 5 carat the oval dominates and the accents read as a frame.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working around each prong. Rinse well and dry with a lint free cloth. Bring it to us or any jeweller for a prong check once a year.
