Design & Selection

Save 20%This is the fully set version of a nature inspired oval ring. An oval moissanite sits at the centre in double claw prongs, surrounded by marquise cut accents laid out as leaves, and the twisted vine shank underneath is covered in micro pave along both strands. Where a plainer vine ring gives you metal and light in alternation, this one keeps the whole band lit, so the openwork reads as a lattice of sparkle rather than a botanical outline. It is the most ornate oval setting we make. Made to order in Surat, India, in ten metals and four centre stone sizes.
Two strands of metal cross and recross from the base of the shank up to the head, and both carry a line of micro pave. Marquise accents branch off the twist at intervals, angled outward like leaves so each one catches light at a different moment. Larger marquise stones cluster tight around the oval, then reduce in size as they move down the shoulders, which pulls the eye toward the centre stone. The gallery is open underneath so light enters the oval from below. Band width is about 2 mm through the twist. Every piece is hand set and finished by our bench in Surat.
Moissanite is silicon carbide, not carbon, so it is a different material from a diamond rather than a lower grade of one. It measures 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond at 10, which makes it hard wearing and well suited to daily use. Its refractive index is higher than a diamond, so it returns more colored fire, which is the quality most buyers notice first. On a design with this many stones the effect compounds, and the ring throws noticeably more colour than the diamond equivalent. This ring is sold as moissanite and is never described as a diamond.
Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. White gold, as photographed, lets the metal disappear so the ring reads almost entirely as stone. Yellow gold makes the vine structure visible and gives a warmer, more obviously botanical look. Rose gold sits between them. For everyday wear 14K is harder and holds pave more securely over time than 18K, and 925 sterling silver is the most affordable way to try the design.
Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. We make US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes. A twisted pave shank cannot easily be resized after it is made, because the stones run continuously around the band, so ordering the correct size at the outset matters a great deal with this design. If you are unsure, measure the inside diameter of a ring you already wear or ask us for a free size guide before ordering.
We can set this design with a lab grown diamond, a colored moissanite such as teal or grey, or a different centre stone shape. We can also reduce the number of marquise leaves for a quieter version, or leave the twist plain and keep only the leaves. Is this a moissanite ring or a diamond ring?
It is a moissanite engagement ring. The centre stone, the marquise leaves and the pave are all lab created moissanite, and the ring is sold as moissanite. We never describe it as a diamond.
How is this different from a plain vine and leaf ring?
The structure is the same but here both strands of the twist are pave set instead of polished. It roughly doubles the number of stones and makes the band read as continuous sparkle rather than as metal with leaves on it.
Is an openwork ring like this fragile?
Not in ordinary wear. The twist is solid metal, not wire, and the stones are bead set below the surface. It does have more surfaces to catch than a plain band, so take it off for gardening, sport and heavy manual work.
Will a wedding band sit flush?
A straight band will leave small gaps where the vine rises and falls. Most people pair this with a contoured or curved band that follows the shape. We can make one in the same metal.
How big does a 2 carat oval look here?
An oval spreads more than a round of the same weight, so a 2 carat oval reads close to a 2.5 carat round face up. The marquise leaves add visible width beyond that, so the head of this ring covers more of the finger than a plain solitaire of the same centre size.
Do the pave stones fall out?
Not in normal wear when properly bead set, which is how we set them. We recommend a bead and prong check once a year, which we do free of charge for the life of the ring.
How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working carefully into the openwork and under the oval where lotion and dust collect. Rinse well and dry with a lint free cloth. Avoid bleach and abrasive cleaners.
How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days because of the amount of hand setting involved, plus shipping time.
