A straightforward pave solitaire for anyone who does not want a hidden halo. The round moissanite accents run down the top half of the band and stop cleanly at the sides, and the basket under the centre stone is left completely plain, built from four flat bars that meet the prongs.

That plain basket is the point. Most pave ovals now add a collar of accents under the stone, which reads as busier and lifts the centre higher. Here the oval sits low against the finger with nothing under it but open metal, so the outline of the stone stays sharp and the ring keeps a quiet, traditional look.

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush. With an open basket and no hidden halo there are fewer places for dust to collect, so a quick clean keeps the stone bright. Dry with a lint free cloth.
