Design & Selection

Save 20%This is the most heavily worked ring in our vine collection. A half moon moissanite sits flush against each side of the oval, making it a three stone. Beyond them marquise cut accents lie along the shoulders like leaves. And behind all of that the band divides into braided strands set with pave, so there is barely a millimetre of plain metal anywhere on the top half of the ring. Four levels of detail, each at a different scale, and they only work together because the sizes step down cleanly from the oval outward. Made to order in Surat, India, in ten metals and four centre stone sizes.
A ring this dense fails if the eye cannot find an order in it. Ours is built outward in four steps: the oval, then the half moons cut to sit flush against it, then the marquises angled to follow the curve of the shoulder, then the pave filling the braided strands behind them. Each group is set before the next is begun, so nothing has to be squeezed in afterwards. The braid itself is two strands soldered at the crossings and filed level, and the pave is cut into it along the curve rather than on a flat surface, which is what keeps the small stones sitting straight as the metal turns. Every ring is hand built and set in our Surat workshop.
Moissanite is silicon carbide, a different material from diamond rather than a lower grade of one. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond at 10, it is hard enough for daily wear. Its refractive index is higher, so it returns more coloured fire, and a ring with this many stones at this many sizes produces a constant broken sparkle rather than a few large flashes. This ring is sold as moissanite and is never described as a diamond.
Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, separates every element with a warm outline so the layers stay readable. White gold merges them into one broad field of light, which suits people who want the ring to look larger rather than more detailed. Rose gold sits between. For a ring with this much pave, 14K is harder than 18K and holds the fine beads better over years of wear, and 925 sterling silver is the most affordable way to try the design.
Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. We make US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes. The pave stops before the base of the band, leaving a plain section that can be resized without disturbing any stone.
We can simplify the design by removing the marquise leaves or the pave, swap the half moons for rounds or trapezoids, use a lab grown diamond or a coloured moissanite as the centre, or make a contoured pave vine wedding band that nests against the shoulders. Is this a moissanite ring or a diamond ring?
It is a moissanite engagement ring. The centre stone, the half moons, the marquise leaves and all the pave are lab created moissanite. We never describe it as a diamond.
How many stones are in this ring?
One oval centre, two half moons, several marquise accents and a full run of pave along both braided shoulders. The exact pave count varies with your ring size, since the braid is made to length.
How is this different from your other vine and three stone rings?
It combines them. Our braided vine three stone uses round side stones and a single pave strand; this one uses half moons, adds marquise leaves, and pave sets the whole braid. It is the most ornate version we make.
Is it too much for everyday wear?
It is a busy ring, but nothing stands proud enough to snag. The half moons sit flush, the marquise tips are protected by V claws and the pave is bead set below the surface of the metal.
Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
No. The braided shoulders are uneven by design and the marquises extend down them, so a straight band leaves gaps. A contoured band shaped to the vine nests properly and we can make one.
Which centre size suits this setting?
3 carat and above hold their own against the amount of detail around them. At 2 carat the ring is still balanced but the centre stone competes with the setting rather than dominating it.
Do the small pave stones fall out?
Not when properly set. Each sits in its own cut seat held by raised beads. We recommend a check once a year, which we do free of charge for the life of the ring.
How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working carefully into the braid and around the pave where lotion collects. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a lint free cloth.
How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes fourteen to eighteen working days for this design, since the half moons are cut to your centre stone and the pave is set by hand, plus shipping time.
