Oval Moissanite Milgrain Twist Pave Vine Engagement Ring

Two strands wind around each other along the shoulders. One carries a line of pave, the other is left plain, and the edges of the pave strand are finished with milgrain beading. Where the two cross, the plain strand passes over the top and the pave disappears behind it for a moment before reappearing.

The beading is what dates the design. Without it the twist would read as modern. With it the ring looks like something made a century ago.

Our infinity twist uses the same two strand idea but leaves the edges clean and the lines sharp, which reads as contemporary. This one adds milgrain and softens everything. Side by side they are the same architecture in two different periods.

Wearing and stacking

The twist means a straight band will touch at the high points of the crossover. A contoured band sits better against it.

Made to order in Surat, India

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. The milgrain is rolled by hand along the pave strand after the stones are set, since running a knurling wheel over a curved twisting surface cannot be done by machine. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 10 to 14 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Brush along the milgrain rather than across it, and work into the hollow where the strands cross. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Slowly, over many years. Any bench jeweller can re cut it when it softens.

How many accent stones are there
Around thirty along the pave strand.

Can this ring be resized
By about one size. Larger changes disturb the pitch of the twist.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.

Which finger sizes are available
