The band splits into branches on the way to the setting: a pave lined strand runs along the outside of each shoulder while a plain polished strand curves away beneath it, leaving an open space between them. Where the branches meet the head, a marquise accent lies against the oval on each side like a leaf on a twig. Compared with our other botanical rings this one is the most architectural, because the split gives the shoulders real depth instead of a flat carved surface. Design and craftsmanship

Two separate problems have to be solved on the same ring. The split has to be carved so both branches leave the shank at the same point and rejoin cleanly at the head, with an even gap between them all the way round; if the gap wanders, the ring looks warped from above. Then the pave has to be set into the outer branch while it is curving in two directions at once, so each seat is drilled at its own angle and the row is bright cut afterwards to give it a clean edge. The marquise leaves are set last, each point protected by a V shaped prong. Every ring is finished by hand in our Surat workshop.

How moissanite compares to a diamond

Moissanite is silicon carbide, a different material from diamond rather than a lower grade of one. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond at 10, it is hard enough for daily wear. A branching design like this catches light from several planes at once, and moissanite has a higher refractive index than diamond, so the pave and the marquise leaves both throw strong coloured fire. This ring is sold as moissanite and is never described as a diamond.

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, makes the branches read as living wood and separates them clearly from the pave. Rose gold gives the warmest, most romantic version. White gold merges the pave with the metal for a brighter, more modern effect. 14K is the practical daily choice for a ring with this much detail, and 925 sterling silver is the most affordable.

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. We make US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes. The branches merge into a single plain band at the base, which is where the ring is resized.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a moissanite ring or a diamond ring?
It is a moissanite engagement ring. The centre stone, the marquise leaves and the pave are all lab created moissanite. We never describe it as a diamond.

How is this different from your other leaf rings?
Our plain band leaf design keeps the shank completely smooth and uses only a few accents. This one splits the band into branches and adds pave along the outer strand, so it is considerably brighter and more sculptural.

Is the split shank strong?
Yes. Both branches carry load and they rejoin at each end. We build the branches slightly heavier in 925 sterling silver, which is a softer metal.

Will a wedding band sit flush?
Not fully. The branches curve outward near the head, so a straight band meets them at an angle. A contoured band follows the shape and we can make one to match your ring.

Are the marquise points at risk?
Each point sits under a V shaped prong that covers the tip rather than beside it, which is the standard protection for marquise stones.

Which centre size suits it?
Two and three carat keep the branches and the stone in balance. Four and five carat make the oval dominant and turn the branchwork into a frame.

Can accent stones fall out?
Bead set pave and V prongs hold securely, and we include a lifetime setting check. Have the beads inspected once a year, as with any pave ring.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working into the gap between the branches where dust collects. Rinse and pat dry. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners at home.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time. Every ring is made only after it is ordered.
