Oval Moissanite Lotus Petal Sunburst Halo Engagement Ring

Instead of a plain ring of small stones, the halo here is built from pointed metal petals. Each petal holds one round moissanite and comes to a tip at the outer edge, so the whole head reads as a flower or a starburst opening out from the oval.

The petals alternate in length, longer at the top and bottom of the oval and shorter at the sides, which is what keeps the outline balanced around an elongated centre stone. The band behind it is deliberately plain so nothing competes with the head.

How it compares

A standard halo hides its metal so the stones look continuous. This one does the opposite and makes the metal part of the pattern. In yellow gold especially, the petals read as strongly as the stones, which is why this ring looks like a piece of goldsmithing rather than a plain halo.

Wearing and stacking

The head is wide, so a straight wedding band will sit a small distance from the petals rather than flush. Many people wear this one on its own or with a band on the other hand.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. Each petal is shaped and its seat cut individually, then the points are filed so they all sit at the same height. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 7 to 10 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush between the petals, where dust collects. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

How many petals are there
Between twelve and sixteen depending on the size of the centre stone, always an even number so the pattern stays symmetrical.

Do the petal tips catch on clothing
The points are rounded and filed flat on top. They are noticeably less snaggy than raised prongs.

Can this ring be resized
Yes. The band carries no stones.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
