Two long tapered baguettes lie along the finger either side of the oval, wide where they meet the centre stone and narrowing as they run outward. Each one is held by a small bar at its outer end rather than by claws, so the stone appears to sit directly in the metal. The band beneath is flat with square edges.

The straight lines and hard edges are what date this to the deco period. Nothing on the ring is rounded except the centre stone itself.

How it compares

Our bar set tapered baguette design sets shorter baguettes with a visible bar at both ends, which breaks the line into segments. This one uses longer stones with a single outer bar, so each side reads as one unbroken taper running away from the centre. The square edged flat band here also sits differently from a rounded shank.

Wearing and stacking

The flat band and low stones make this one of the easiest designs to pair. A flat wedding band sits perfectly against it with no gap at all.

Tapered baguettes have to be matched as a mirrored pair, since the taper runs in opposite directions on the two sides and any difference in angle shows against the symmetry of the oval. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 10 to 14 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Step cut facets show marks more than brilliant facets, so clean this one a little more often. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.
