The accents on this band are large, close in size to a small centre stone in their own right, and they are held in shared prongs so each stone touches its neighbours with almost no metal showing between them. The row runs from the setting most of the way round the finger.

Because the stones are big, the band throws broad separate flashes as the hand moves rather than the fine shimmer of micropave. It is the loudest accent band in our oval range.

How it compares

Our ultra fine micropave band is the opposite approach: dozens of tiny stones reading as one soft line of light. This one uses perhaps a quarter as many stones at several times the size. Choose this if you want the band itself to be noticed, and the micropave if you want the centre stone to do all the talking.

Wearing and stacking

A shared prong band sits proud of the finger and the prongs sit slightly above the stones. It pairs best with a matching shared prong wedding band rather than a flat plain one.

Made to order in Surat, India

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. Shared prongs carry two stones each, so every prong is cut and tightened against both neighbours in turn. The row is checked stone by stone before final polish. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 10 to 14 working days.

Care

Warm water and a soft brush, working between the prongs. Have the shared prongs checked once a year, since each one holds two stones. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

How many accent stones are there
Around eighteen to twenty two, depending on your finger size.

Can this ring be resized
Very little. The accent row runs most of the way round. Order your exact size where possible.

Do shared prongs hold as well as individual ones
Yes, when they are cut properly, and they show far less metal. The trade off is that a damaged prong affects two stones instead of one, so annual checks matter more.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
