Oval Moissanite Half Moon Three Stone Engagement Ring

Half moon moissanites sit either side of the oval, each with its straight edge turned toward the centre stone and its curved edge facing out toward the shoulder. Because the flat edge follows the line of the oval almost exactly, the three stones read as a single continuous shape with barely any metal visible between them.

It is an unusual choice. Half moons, also called demi lunes, are cut specifically to sit against another stone, and they are harder to source and match than rounds or pears. The payoff is a head that looks wide and solid without using a halo or a heavy setting.

How it compares

Pear and marquise side stones point away from the centre and leave a visible gap on either side. Half moons close that gap. Next to our trapezoid and baguette designs, the curved outer edge here softens the whole head rather than squaring it off.

Wearing and stacking

The stones sit at a common height and the band is plain, so a straight wedding band lies flush against the shank. The wide head means the ring covers a good part of the finger, which suits people who want presence without extra height.

Care

Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, paying attention to the narrow joints where the half moons meet the centre stone. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.
