Oval Moissanite Full Bezel Split Band Solitaire Engagement Ring

A continuous rim of metal wraps the oval right around its girdle. There are no prongs anywhere on this ring, so the outline you see from above is a clean oval of stone inside a clean oval of metal, and nothing rises above the surface.

Behind the bezel the band divides into two fine strands that run either side of the setting before rejoining, which lightens what would otherwise be a solid block of metal at the top of the ring.

How it compares

Our other bezel design surrounds the rim with a pave halo. This one leaves it bare, so the ring is entirely about the shape of the stone and the line of the metal around it. It is also the safest style we make for hands on work, since there is nothing at all to catch.

Wearing and stacking

Completely smooth, so it slides under gloves and does not pull on knitwear. A straight wedding band sits flush against the split shank.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. A bezel has to be cut to the exact outline of the stone, and on an oval the curve changes constantly, so this is one of the slower settings we make. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 7 to 10 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth. A bezel keeps dirt away from the stone better than prongs do.

Questions buyers ask

Does a bezel dull the sparkle
It covers the very edge of the stone, so slightly less light enters from the side. In moissanite, which returns a great deal of light on its own, the difference is small.

Can this ring be resized
Yes. The lower part of the band is plain.

Is a bezel better for active hands
Yes. Nothing protrudes, so it will not snag, and the stone is supported all the way around.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
