Everything about this ring is deliberately substantial. The band is a flat 4 mm, wide enough to read as a statement on its own, and on top of it sit three stones: an oval centre with an emerald cut step cut rectangle on each side. Emerald cuts have long open facets rather than crushed ice sparkle, so they behave like windows next to the brilliance of the oval, and against a wide flat band the whole head looks architectural rather than romantic. Design and craftsmanship

Step cut stones are the most demanding to set well. Their facets are long straight planes, so any tilt shows as a broken reflection running the length of the stone, and their corners are the weak points. Our setters build both side baskets to identical height, check the three tables against a straight edge, and cover every corner with a prong. The band is forged flat and finished with crisp square edges rather than rounded ones, because a soft edge would undercut the geometry the design depends on. Every ring is finished by hand in our Surat workshop.

This band is wider than our standard 2 mm shank, so it uses considerably more metal. The price shown already includes the wider band; nothing is added at checkout.

How moissanite compares to a diamond

Moissanite is silicon carbide, a different material from diamond rather than a lower grade of one. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond at 10, it is hard enough for daily wear. Step cuts show a stone's clarity more openly than brilliant cuts, which is one reason VVS material matters here: with long open facets there is nowhere for an inclusion to hide. This ring is sold as moissanite and is never described as a diamond.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, is the strongest choice because a wide flat band shows more metal colour than any other design. Rose gold does the same in a warmer tone. White gold keeps attention on the three stones. A 4 mm band in 14K is extremely durable, and 925 sterling silver gives the same presence at the lowest price.

Ring size

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. We make US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes. A 4 mm band fits more snugly than a thin one, so if you are between sizes take the larger. The inside is comfort finished to help.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a moissanite ring or a diamond ring?
It is a moissanite engagement ring. The centre stone and both emerald cut side stones are lab created moissanite. We never describe it as a diamond.

What is an emerald cut?
A rectangular step cut with cut corners. Instead of the many small facets of a brilliant, it has long parallel facets that produce broad flashes of light, often described as a hall of mirrors.

How is this different from your radiant three stone ring?
Radiants have brilliant faceting inside a rectangular outline, so they sparkle like a round. These emerald cuts are true step cuts, calmer and more glassy, and this version sits on a 4 mm flat band rather than a 2 mm one.

Is a 4 mm band too much for a small hand?
It is a genuinely wide ring and it covers a lot of the finger. If you prefer something more discreet, we can make the same head on a 2 or 3 mm band.

Should I size up?
Yes, if you are between sizes. Wide bands fit tighter than narrow ones.

Will a wedding band sit flush?
Yes, and a matching wide flat band pairs particularly well. All three stones sit above the band line.

Are the emerald cut corners at risk?
Not as set here. Every corner sits under a prong, which is the standard protection for cut corner step cuts.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush around the prongs, then rinse and pat dry. Flat topped step cuts show finger marks more than brilliants, so wipe the tables regularly with a soft cloth.

How long does it take to make?
