Oval Moissanite Domed Comfort Fit Band Solitaire Engagement Ring

The band on this ring is domed, thick and rounded on the outside with a curved inner surface so it slides over the knuckle easily and sits without pressure. At roughly 3 mm it is noticeably heavier than a standard shank, and that weight is the point of the design.

Against it the oval is set in four claw prongs on a small tulip shaped basket, kept deliberately compact so the band remains the dominant element.

How it compares

Our slim solitaires make the stone look as large as possible by giving it almost no competition. This one takes the opposite approach. A heavier band balances the stone and gives the ring presence on the hand even in the smaller carat sizes. It is also the most comfortable of our designs for people who are not used to wearing rings.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. A comfort fit band is made from thicker stock and hollowed on the inside, then polished on a curved lap. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 7 to 10 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Dry with a lint free cloth. A polished dome shows fine scratches over time, which we can polish out for you.

What does comfort fit mean
The inside of the band is domed rather than flat, so less metal touches the finger and the ring passes over the knuckle more easily.

Should I order my usual size
Comfort fit rings often feel slightly loose in the usual size. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, though a thick domed band takes more work than a thin one.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.

Which finger sizes are available
