Rather than a single tidy row, the accents on this ring are grouped into staggered clusters that sit two deep in places, like berries bunched on a stem. The stones are large for accents and they are not all the same size, which is what stops the clusters from resolving into a pattern.

The clusters stop about two thirds of the way round and the back of the band is left plain and smooth.

How it compares

Our large shared prong band runs one even row of matched stones, which reads as orderly. This one breaks the row up into clusters of varying size and depth, which reads as organic. Both use big accents; the difference is entirely in the arrangement.

Wearing and stacking

The clusters sit slightly proud of the band. A straight wedding band will rest against the outermost stones rather than sitting flush.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. Clusters are set from the largest stone outward so the smaller ones can be fitted into whatever space is genuinely left, which is the only reliable way to make a mixed size group sit tight. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 10 to 14 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Brush into the gaps between clustered stones from several directions, since the staggered depth means residue can sit beneath the upper row. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.
