The accents on this ring sit inside a channel cut into the flat top of the band, held by the two walls of the channel rather than by claws or beads. The stones sit level with the surface of the metal, so running a finger along the shoulder feels almost smooth.

Channel setting gives the crispest line of any setting style. There is no beadwork, no scalloping and no visible metal between the stones, just two clean parallel edges.

How it compares

Our bead set pave shows a tiny bead of metal over the edge of every stone, which sparkles but gives a slightly textured surface. Channel setting hides all of that inside the walls. It is the smoothest and most modern of our accent bands, and the most practical for anyone who catches rings on things.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. The channel is cut in a single pass so both walls stay parallel, then each stone is fitted individually and the walls are pressed down along the whole run rather than stone by stone. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 10 to 14 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush along the channel. Residue can travel along the inside of a channel, so rinse thoroughly from both ends. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Do channel set stones come loose
Less often than claw set ones, because the whole wall holds them rather than four small points. If the wall is knocked, though, it affects several stones at once.

How many accent stones are there
Around twenty two along both shoulders.

Can this ring be resized
By about half a size. Moving a channel further than that distorts the walls.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.

Which finger sizes are available
