Three ideas run together in this ring. A round moissanite sits on each side of the centre oval, making it a true three stone. Beyond them, marquise cut accents lie along the shoulders like small leaves. And behind all of it the band splits into two strands that cross over each other, one plain and one set with pave, so the shank reads as a braided vine rather than a plain circle. Design and craftsmanship

The hardest part of a braided shank is keeping the two strands the same weight where they cross. If one is heavier the band looks lopsided from the side, and if the crossing point is too thick the ring feels bulky on the finger. Our bench forms the strands separately, solders them at the crossings, then files the joins down until the transition disappears. Only after that is the pave cut into the upper strand, working around the curve so the small stones stay level as the metal twists. The marquise leaves are set at slightly different angles so they follow the direction of the braid rather than sitting square to the finger. Every ring is hand finished in our Surat workshop.

How moissanite compares to a diamond

Moissanite is silicon carbide, a different material from diamond rather than a lower grade of one. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond at 10, it is hard enough for daily wear. Its higher refractive index returns more coloured fire, which suits a design with three different cuts because each one throws light differently. This ring is sold as moissanite and is never described as a diamond.

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. White gold, as photographed, makes the braid read as pure light and metal with no colour break. Yellow and rose gold show the twist more clearly because the plain strand contrasts against the set one. For a braided shank worn daily 14K is the practical choice, being harder than 18K, and 925 sterling silver is the most affordable way to try the design.

Ring size

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. We make US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes. The braid stops before the base of the band, leaving a plain section that can be resized later without disturbing the pave.

Is this a moissanite ring or a diamond ring?
It is a moissanite engagement ring. The centre stone and every accent are lab created moissanite, and the ring is sold as moissanite. We never describe it as a diamond.

Is this a three stone ring or a vine ring?
Both. The round side stones make it a three stone design, and the marquise leaves with the braided shank give it the nature inspired look. If you want one without the other, we can make either version.

How does this differ from your vine three stone ring?
That design has a single smooth vine shank. This one splits the band into two crossing strands with pave on one of them, so it is busier and catches more light along the finger.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Not against a straight band, because the marquise leaves and the braid extend down the shoulders. A contoured band follows the shape properly, and we can make one to match.

Do the pave stones on the twist stay secure?
Yes. Each is bead set into a seat cut in the metal, and setting them along a curve rather than a flat surface is standard bench work. We recommend a check once a year, which we do free of charge.

Which centre size suits this setting?
2 and 3 carat keep the braid and the leaves clearly visible. At 4 and 5 carat the oval takes over and the band detail becomes a supporting texture.

Does moissanite scratch or cloud over time?
No. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale it resists scratching from ordinary contact, and its brilliance comes from the material itself, not a coating.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working into the gaps between the two strands where soap can collect. Rinse well and dry with a lint free cloth.

How long does it take to make?
