Most pave engagement rings use very small accent stones so the band reads as a line of glitter. This one goes the other way. The round moissanite accents along the shank are noticeably larger, set in a French style where the metal is cut away beneath each stone, so light reaches them from underneath and each accent behaves like a small stone in its own right rather than a speck of sparkle.

The pave runs about three quarters of the way around the band, stopping just before the underside of the finger where a ring gets the most contact. Under the head sits a hidden halo of round accents that circles the entire basket, so the oval appears to float on a bright collar when the ring is viewed from the side.

How it compares

Against our petite and micropave styles, the difference is stone size. Here you get fewer, larger accents rather than many tiny ones, which gives broader flashes of light and a bolder look on the finger. Against a visible halo, the sparkle sits at the band and under the stone rather than around it, so the oval keeps its own outline.

Wearing and stacking

Because the pave stops short of the palm side, the ring sits comfortably against the finger and there is a plain section of metal for resizing if you ever need it. A pave wedding band with similar stone size pairs naturally with this design.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. Each ring is made after you order, in the metal, carat and finger size you choose. Every accent is hand set and the ring is polished by hand before dispatch. Production usually takes 7 to 10 working days.

Care

Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush, working gently along the pave and under the basket. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth. Remove the ring before swimming, gardening or using household chemicals.

How many accent stones are on the band
The count varies with your finger size, generally between twenty and twenty six on the shank plus the hidden halo around the basket.

Will the larger pave stones catch on clothing
No. French cut pave still holds each stone below the top edge of the metal, so the surface stays smooth to the touch.

Can this ring be resized
Yes. The palm side of the band is left plain specifically so a jeweller can size it up or down without disturbing any stones.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery, and it keeps its brilliance for life.

Which metal shows the pave best
White gold gives the brightest contrast with colorless accents. Yellow and rose gold make the centre stone read warmer and the pave slightly softer.
