Every stone in this ring sits inside its own frame of metal. The oval is held in a full bezel, and a step cut baguette on each side sits in its own square collet, edges squared off rather than rounded. There are no prongs anywhere. The result is strongly geometric, closer to an art deco brooch than to a conventional three stone ring, with the outline of each setting reading as clearly as the stones inside them. The shank is slim and plain so nothing competes with the head. Made to order in Surat, India, in ten metals and four centre stone sizes.

Design and craftsmanship

Step cuts are unforgiving in a way brilliants are not. A baguette has long straight facets and a flat table, so the eye reads straight into the stone and any misalignment in the setting shows immediately. Each collet here is built as a small box, filed square, and set so the top edge of the metal lines up exactly with the table of the baguette. The three settings are then aligned to one another along a single axis before soldering, because if one sits a fraction high the whole row looks tilted. Bezelling the oval as well keeps the language of the ring consistent: metal frame, stone inside, no claws anywhere. Every ring is hand finished in our Surat workshop.

How moissanite compares to a diamond

Moissanite is silicon carbide, a different material from diamond rather than a lower grade of one. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond at 10 it is hard enough for daily wear, and full bezels add real protection to the girdle of every stone. Step cut moissanite behaves differently from brilliant cut: instead of scattered sparkle you see broad flashes of light across the long facets, which is exactly the effect art deco jewellery was built on. This ring is sold as moissanite and is never described as a diamond.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, draws the strongest outline around each setting and gives the ring its deco character. White gold makes the frames recede so the three stones read as one continuous band of light. Rose gold sits between. For daily wear 14K holds bezel edges better than softer 18K, and 925 sterling silver is the most affordable way to try the design.

Ring size

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. We make US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes. The band is plain below the head, so resizing later does not disturb any setting.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a moissanite ring or a diamond ring?
It is a moissanite engagement ring. The centre oval and both baguettes are lab created moissanite, and the ring is sold as moissanite. We never describe it as a diamond.

What is a baguette cut?
A rectangular step cut with long parallel facets and a flat table. It does not sparkle the way a brilliant does; it flashes broadly, which is why it is used for the strong clean lines in art deco designs.

How is this different from your tapered baguette three stone ring?
That design holds the baguettes in prongs and tapers them toward the shank. This one bezels every stone in its own square frame, which makes the ring read as far more geometric.

Why bezel set everything?
For consistency of design and for protection. With no prongs anywhere, there is nothing to bend, catch or wear thin, which makes this one of the most practical designs we make.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Yes, mostly. The bezels sit level with the shoulders rather than dropping down the shank, so a straight band lies close. A flat band suits the squared geometry of this ring better than a rounded one.

Do the baguettes show inclusions more easily?
Step cuts do show the inside of a stone more clearly than brilliants, which is exactly why we use VVS clarity moissanite here. There is nothing visible to the eye.

Which centre size suits this setting?
All four. We scale the baguettes to the centre, so the proportion holds. At 4 and 5 carat the ring becomes a genuinely bold statement piece.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush along the edges of each bezel where lotion collects. Rinse well and dry with a lint free cloth. There are no prongs to snag a cloth on.

How long does it take to make?
