An oval moissanite held in a full bezel, on a wide band built from two raised polished rails with a channel of pave running between them the entire way round the finger. The pave does not stop at the shoulders.

Pricing note

Our standard prices assume a band of up to 2 mm. This one is about 4 mm, so a width surcharge of 100 dollars in silver and 400 dollars in gold is already included in the prices shown. A full circle of pave between two rails also takes far longer to set than a pair of shoulders. Nothing is added at checkout.

Why the rails matter

Most pave bands set the stones flush with the surface, which looks good and wears down over the years as the beading rubs away. Here two solid rails stand slightly above the stones and the pave sits in the trough between them, so the rails take the knocks and the stones do not. If you have lost stones from a pave ring before, this is the more sensible construction.

The bezel

A continuous rim follows the whole outline of the oval. Nothing catches and the girdle cannot be chipped by a knock. The honest tradeoff is that a bezel covers the outer edge of the stone, so a bezel set oval looks slightly smaller than the same stone in claws.

How it compares

Our half bezel open frame solitaire leaves the sides of the stone open and keeps the band plain. This one closes the bezel completely and puts a full eternity of pave into the band, so it is the more substantial and by some way the more sparkling of the two.

This is the substantial one of the three: a closed bezel on a wide rail band with a full eternity of pave. If you want the security of a bezel without the width or the cost, the milgrain version is the better buy.

Wearing and stacking

The rails give the band straight parallel edges, so a straight wedding band sits against it cleanly. Many people wear this one alone because it is already wide.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. A full eternity of pave has to be set right around the band, which is most of why this ring takes longer than it looks. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 7 to 10 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Brush along the channel from both sides. Dirt collects at the base of the rails and dulls the stones there first. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

How many accent stones are there
Around sixty, running the full circumference.

Can this ring be resized
Barely. The channel and its rails run all the way round and cutting the shank interrupts both. Please take the sizing seriously and we will help you get it right before we make it.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.

Which finger sizes are available
Sizes 3 to 13 including half sizes. Message us before ordering if you need something outside that range.
