Two tapered baguettes lie across the finger either side of the oval, wide end toward the centre stone and narrow end pointing outward. Each one is held in a bar setting, a small band of metal capping each end, rather than in prongs. The result is a very clean line with no claws breaking it up.

The baguettes are cut step style, which means long flat facets and a glassy flash rather than the fine sparkle of a brilliant. Against the brilliant faceted oval that contrast is the point of the design.

How it compares

Our other tapered baguette design angles the stones up along the shoulders so they lean into the centre stone. This one lays them flat across the finger and frames each end in metal, which reads more geometric and more art deco. It also sits lower and is easier to keep clean.

Wearing and stacking

The baguettes sit low and flush, so a straight wedding band sits against the shank without catching. A plain band suits the clean lines best.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth. Step cut stones show finger marks more than brilliants, so wipe them often to keep the flash.
