An oval cut lab grown diamond in four claws, with three round accent diamonds grouped on each shoulder in a triangle rather than laid out in a line. Two sit close to the centre stone and one drops below and between them, so the cluster fans out from the head instead of marching along the shank. It is a small arrangement but it changes the whole geometry of the ring. A row of accents reads as a band with stones in it. A triangular cluster reads as part of the setting, framing the oval and then stopping, with plain polished metal running the rest of the way round. There is no halo and no hidden halo. Because the accents are grouped rather than continuous, there is a lot of visible metal between and around them. Yellow and rose gold turn that metal into part of the pattern. Frequently asked questions

What is a cluster shoulder?
A small group of accent diamonds set beside the centre stone rather than a continuous row running the length of the band. Here each group is three rounds arranged in a triangle.

How is this different from a pave shoulder ring?
Pave runs as an unbroken line of small stones along the shank. These accents are grouped only at the head in a deliberate triangular arrangement, and the rest of the band is plain polished metal.

Does this ring have a hidden halo?
No. The head is a plain four claw setting, so the oval sits on its own with nothing beneath the girdle.

Does an oval look bigger than a round of the same weight?
Generally yes. An oval spreads its weight across a longer surface, presenting more face up area than a round of identical carat, and the elongated outline flatters the finger.

Will the small accents stay secure?
They are set into the shoulder rather than perched on it, and a check every year or two keeps them sound. Our lifetime prong and setting check covers this at no charge.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
