An oval cut lab grown diamond in four claws on a plain polished band whose two ends do not simply meet the setting but pass over one another in a shallow twist directly beneath the stone.

This is a plain solitaire with one piece of construction that changes how it sits. Instead of the shank running straight up into a basket, the two halves of the band separate slightly as they approach the head, cross over one another underneath the stone and then rise as the claws. It takes no extra metal and adds no stones, but it does three things. It lifts the head a couple of millimetres above the finger, which gives the oval air underneath and stops the stone looking pressed flat against the hand. It creates a small open space beneath the setting that a wedding band can tuck into, so the two rings sit closer together than a straight shank would allow. And it puts a soft curve into the profile of the ring, so the side view has movement in it rather than being two parallel lines meeting a box. The rest of the ring is left completely alone. No pave, no halo, no gallery decoration, no milgrain. The band is round in section, tapers very slightly toward the back and is polished bright.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is a crossover shank
The two halves of the band pass over one another beneath the head instead of meeting it straight on. It lifts the stone slightly, softens the side profile and opens a small gap for a wedding band.

Does the crossover make the ring weaker
No. The two halves are soldered where they cross, which gives the shoulders more metal in cross section than a plain shank of the same wire.

Will a wedding band sit flush
Closer than with a straight shank, because the crossover leaves an open space beneath the head. A straight band tucks into it without touching the claws.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, easily and by several sizes, because the shank carries no stones. We cut at the back, away from the crossover.
