Oval Cut Lab Grown Diamond Ring with Round Sides on a Curling Vine Band with Marquise Leaves

An oval cut lab grown diamond in four claws with a large round brilliant on each side, sitting above a milgrain edged vine that scrolls the whole way round the finger carrying marquise cut diamond leaves and small curled gold tendrils.

The three main stones give this ring the width and the presence of a proper three stone, but the band underneath refuses to behave like a three stone band. Instead of a straight shank it is a scrolling vine, milgrained along both edges, that dips and rises as it travels and never runs parallel to itself on the two sides of the finger. Marquise cut diamonds are set flat into it as leaves at intervals, angled off the line of the vine rather than aligned to it, and between them the goldsmith has added small tightly curled tendrils in plain metal, each one a closed spiral standing slightly proud of the band. Those curls do a specific job. They break the run of milgrain into short passages so the vine reads as something grown rather than something drawn, and they cast small shadows that keep the shank from looking flat in the deep areas between the leaves. The head is built directly out of the vine, with the shoulders splitting and rejoining around an open gallery so light can pass under all three stones.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. Yellow gold is shown in the photographs, which suits the botanical scrollwork. Rose gold gives the warmest reading of the tendrils.

Ring size

The ring is made to your finger size. Select your size at checkout. If you are unsure, we will send you a printable size guide before we begin work.

Custom orders

We can change the carat weight, remove the two round side stones for a solitaire on the same vine, replace some marquise leaves with lab emerald, remove the tendrils for a cleaner vine, or make a nesting contour band that follows the scroll. Write to us through https://mapplegems.com/pages/contact and our workshop will prepare a quotation and a rendering before any metal is cut.

Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What are the small gold curls on the band
They are tendrils, closed spirals of plain polished metal added between the leaves. They break the run of milgrain and cast small shadows so the vine reads as grown rather than drawn.

How is this different from your other vine rings
Our entwined twist vine uses two plain strands with emerald and diamond leaves and no side stones. Our paved vine sets the loops themselves with pave. This one has two large round side stones, a milgrain edged single vine, marquise leaves and plain gold tendrils.

Is this a three stone ring
In its main stones, yes, an oval flanked by two large rounds. But the marquise leaves continue around the band, so it wears with more movement than a conventional three stone.

Will the tendrils catch on clothing
They are closed spirals sitting low and polished smooth, with no open ends, so they do not snag the way an open scroll would.

Can this ring be resized
Only slightly. Cutting the shank interrupts the vine and the leaf spacing, so for larger changes we prefer to remake the band at the correct size.

How long does the ring take to make
Three claw heads, marquise leaf settings, milgrain along the whole vine and hand formed tendrils, so allow twenty two to twenty six working days before dispatch.

Why buy a lab grown diamond

Most of the work in this ring is in the vine, the leaves and the tendrils, and lab grown material means paying for that does not push you down to a smaller or lower graded centre. You get an E colour VVS2 oval of two to five carats, matched rounds beside it and matched marquise leaves along the band, in fully hallmarked metal, with a traceable origin and no mining.
