An oval cut lab grown diamond in six claws with a small pear cut diamond and a pair of tiny round brilliants tucked against each shoulder, on a fine polished band left plain everywhere else.

The accents on this ring are deliberately undersized. A pear of about a tenth the width of the centre stone and two rounds smaller again, set tight against the claws rather than spaced out along the shoulder. That restraint is the whole design. Larger side stones start to compete with the oval and change the ring into a cluster. Stones this small do something different. They fill the small triangle of empty metal that always appears between a round shank and the flank of an oval head, and by filling it with light rather than gold they make the centre stone look as though it continues a little further than it does. The pear sits closest to the claws with its point toward the finger, and the two rounds step down behind it in decreasing size, so the accents fade out rather than stopping abruptly. There is no pave on the band and no gallery decoration underneath. It is a solitaire with the gap filled in, which is why it suits someone who wants a plain ring but finds a completely bare shoulder too severe.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Why are the accent stones so small
Because their job is to fill the empty wedge of metal beside the head, not to add sparkle of their own. Larger stones there start to compete with the oval and the ring stops being a solitaire.

Is this a three stone ring
No. The accents are far too small to read as side stones. This is a solitaire with dressed shoulders.

Will such small stones stay in place
Yes. Each is individually set and we check and tighten every setting free of charge whenever the ring comes in for cleaning.

Does this ring sit flush with a wedding band
Yes. The shank is straight and the accents sit above the shoulder line, so a plain or pave band meets it cleanly.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, comfortably by two or three sizes, because the accents sit at the shoulders and the rest of the shank is bare.

How long does the ring take to make
Each ring is made to order and every accent is set by hand, so allow sixteen to twenty working days before dispatch.
