An oval cut lab grown diamond surrounded by a halo in which every accent sits in its own pointed petal shaped cup of metal, the petals radiating outward from the stone so the head opens like a sunflower.

An ordinary halo hides its metal. The stones sit shoulder to shoulder in a shared channel and the setter's job is to make the gold between them disappear so the ring of diamonds reads as continuous. This design does the reverse and makes the metal the pattern. Each halo stone is given a cup of its own, drawn out to a sharp point beyond the diamond, and those cups are arranged so they radiate outward from the centre stone in two staggered rings, the outer points falling between the inner ones. What you see is not a circle of diamonds but a flower head, with each petal outlined in bright gold and a stone set at its heart. It is a fundamentally different visual object: instead of making the centre stone appear larger, which is what a close set halo does, this frames it in a decorative motif and the oval sits inside the flower as its centre. The head is consequently much wider than the stone, and the shank is left plain so nothing competes with it.

Band details

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate

What is a petal cup halo
Each accent stone sits in its own pointed cup of metal rather than sharing a channel with its neighbours, and the cups radiate outward so the head reads as a flower.

How is this different from your other halo rings
Every other halo we make tries to hide its metal so the stones read as a continuous ring. This one makes the metal the pattern, so the head is a flower rather than a circle of diamonds.

Does it make the centre stone look larger
Not in the way a close set halo does. It frames the oval inside a decorative motif rather than extending its apparent outline, so the ring reads as much bigger overall while the stone still reads as its own size.

Why are the petals in two staggered rings
So the outer points fall between the inner ones. Aligning them would produce spokes; staggering them fills the outline and makes the flower read as a continuous head.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it
No, the head is wide and the petals project. A contour band shaped to clear them is the right answer, and we can make one to match.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, comfortably. The shank is plain and carries no stones.
