An oval cut lab grown diamond in four bead tipped claws with two marquise cut diamonds set as leaves on each shoulder, above a band woven from strands that separate, cross and rejoin along the finger.

The band is the interesting part. Rather than a simple two strand twist, the shank here splits into strands that open into a flattened loop on each shoulder and then draw back together, so from the side there is a long almond shaped void in the metal on both sides of the ring. That negative space is what makes a fairly substantial band look light. It also gives the marquise leaves somewhere to grow from. Each leaf is set at the point where the strands separate, angled slightly upward and outward, so they read as new growth coming off a branch rather than as accent stones bolted onto a shoulder. There are only four of them, two per side, and that restraint is deliberate. On a woven band the metalwork is already doing a lot of visual work, and crowding it with stones would flatten the weave into a glittering mass. Four marquise, placed exactly where the eye is already looking, is enough to say what the design is about. The claws holding the oval are finished with small beads at the tips, which picks up the rounded ends of the woven strands.

Band details

The shank splits into strands that open into a flattened loop on each shoulder and rejoin toward the back, leaving an almond shaped void visible from the side. All surfaces are polished bright and the interior is comfort rounded.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is shown in the photographs. In yellow gold the weave casts stronger shadow and the leaves stand out more sharply.

Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Why only four accent stones
Because the woven band is already the decoration. More stones would fill the open loops and the weave would stop reading as metalwork.

Why marquise rather than round accents
A marquise is pointed at both ends and widest in the middle, which is a leaf outline. Set at an angle beside a branching band, it reads as foliage without any carving.

Is the open weave strong
Yes. The strands are soldered where they cross, which stiffens the shank considerably compared with a single wire of the same weight.

Does this ring sit flush with a wedding band
Not with a straight band, because the shoulders are shaped. We make a matching band that follows the weave, and most customers order the two together.

Can this ring be resized
Within about one size. Beyond that the loops change proportion, so we prefer to remake the shank.

How long does the ring take to make
The weave is formed and soldered by hand and the leaves set individually, so allow eighteen to twenty two working days before dispatch.
