An oval cut lab grown diamond in six claws with a pair of marquise cut lab emeralds set as leaves against each side, on a plain polished vine that loops open at the shoulders, with no white accent stones anywhere.

This is the quietest of our emerald leaf designs, and the restraint is the reason it works. There are exactly four leaves, two on each side, arranged as a sprig with one leaf angled upward and one downward from the same point on the vine. Nothing else is set. There is no pavé on the band, no white diamond leaves alternating with the green ones, and no stones anywhere near the head beyond the emeralds themselves. That leaves a very simple three part composition: a white centre stone, four green leaves, and bright plain gold. Because green sits opposite red on the colour wheel and yellow gold reads as warm, the emeralds against gold produce the strongest colour contrast available in jewellery, which is why so little of it is needed here. Add white diamond leaves as well and the green stops being the event. The vine itself is left entirely plain and loops open at each shoulder, so daylight passes through the band on both sides of the stone.

Band details

Yellow gold is shown in the photographs and is the strongest choice here, because warm gold against green emerald is the sharpest colour contrast in the design. White gold makes the green read cooler and more botanical.

Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Are the emeralds real emeralds
They are lab created emeralds, chemically and optically the same beryl as mined emerald. At this small size they are cleaner and far more consistent in colour than mined material would be.

How is this different from your other emerald leaf rings
One sets emerald sprigs at the shoulders of a plain round band with diamond leaves alongside. Another runs emerald and white marquise leaves along a fully paved vine, and a third along an entwined twist. This one uses emeralds only, four leaves in total, on a plain looping vine.

Why are there no white diamond accents
So the green is the only colour event on the ring. Adding white leaves alongside divides the attention and the emeralds stop being the point.

Are emeralds durable enough for daily wear
Emerald is 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, softer than diamond. These are small marquise stones set close against the vine rather than raised, which is the safest way to wear emerald daily. Remove the ring for heavy work.

Will the emeralds fade
No. Beryl colour is stable in normal wear and does not fade with light exposure. Avoid steam and ultrasonic cleaning, which can affect any emerald.

Can this ring be resized
Only slightly. Cutting the shank interrupts the looping vine, so for larger changes we prefer to remake the band at the correct size.

Setting coloured stones beside a white centre demands that the centre be genuinely colourless, or the contrast turns muddy. Lab grown material is how an E colour VVS2 oval of two to five carats sits beside green emerald at this price, with a traceable origin and no mining.
