An oval lab grown diamond over a concealed halo, on a plain band that divides into two fine arms as it approaches the head and rejoins beneath the stone.

A split shank is usually presented as a decorative flourish, but it began as a way of solving a load problem. On a large stone the head has to be carried on something wide enough not to flex, and a single wide shank looks clumsy on the finger. Dividing the band into two narrow arms gives the same total support while each arm stays fine, and the open space between them lets light pass under the head from the side, which lifts the stone visually off the hand. Here the split is kept shallow and symmetrical so it reads as a deliberate line rather than a fussy scroll, and both arms are left completely plain. Inside the basket a concealed halo runs around the wall below the girdle, which is the only place on the ring where small stones appear, and it is invisible from directly above.
