An oval cut lab grown diamond in four fine claws over a pavé set hidden halo, on a deliberately slender shank carrying a single fine row of pavé that runs halfway down each shoulder and then stops, leaving the rest of the band plain and polished.

This is a ring built to make the centre stone look as large as possible, and the way it does that is by removing metal rather than by adding diamonds. The shank is petite, noticeably thinner than a standard solitaire band, and a thin shank makes the stone above it read bigger by simple contrast. The pavé on it is a single narrow row of very small stones, not a wide field, so it adds a thread of light along the shoulders without giving the band any visual weight. It also stops halfway. Most pavé shanks either run three quarters of the way round or continue right to the palm, but here the run ends cleanly at the midpoint of each shoulder with a neat squared finish, so the lower half of the ring is plain metal. That does three practical things. It puts no stones where the ring takes the most wear, it leaves the whole lower shank available for resizing, and it makes the paved section read as an extension of the head rather than as decoration on the band. Under the stone the hidden halo runs the full oval outline on the outside of a low collar, invisible from above and adding brightness up through the pavilion.

Band details

A petite shank, thinner than a standard solitaire band, with a single narrow pavé row across the upper half of each shoulder and plain polished metal below. The interior is smooth and comfort rounded.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is shown in the photographs, which makes the slim band disappear against the hand and leaves only the stone. In yellow or rose gold the thin shank reads as a fine warm line.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate

Does a thin band really make the diamond look bigger
Yes, and it is the most effective trick in ring design. The stone is judged against the width of the metal beside it, so a petite shank makes the same carat weight read noticeably larger.

Why does the pave stop halfway
It keeps stones away from the part of the ring that takes the most wear, leaves the lower shank free for resizing, and makes the paved section read as part of the head rather than as decoration on the band.

How is this different from your other hidden halo pave rings
Our other designs use three quarter French cut pavé, scalloped pavé, or full coverage micropavé, all on standard width shanks. This one is a petite shank with a single fine row stopping at the halfway point.

Is a petite band strong enough for daily wear
Yes in 14K or 18K gold, which we recommend for a thin shank. A thin band will show wear on the palm side over many years, and we repolish and reinforce it during servicing at no charge.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, comfortably. The plain lower half is exactly where a sizing cut is made, so the pavé is never disturbed.
