An oval cut lab grown diamond in four bead tipped claws over a concealed halo of pave diamonds, on a slim plain band whose underside is cut away so a wedding ring nests against it without a gap.

Perfect fit is a construction detail rather than a decorative one, and it solves a problem almost every solitaire has. A raised head sits above the finger, so a straight wedding band pushed against it stops short and leaves a visible gap, or worse, rocks against the claws and wears them. Here the shank is notched. The metal is thinned and hollowed on the underside of the shoulders in a shallow scoop, so a plain band slides into that recess and finishes flush against the engagement ring on both sides. From above nothing shows. From the side the two rings read as one object with a single silhouette. The rest of the ring is deliberately understated so the fit is what you notice. The claws are drawn fine and finished with small beads at the tips, an antique detail that reads as a row of tiny highlights rather than as bulk metal. Beneath the girdle a full hidden halo of round brilliants circles the basket, invisible from above and bright in profile.

Band details

The shank is slim and round in section, polished bright and unset. The underside of both shoulders is scooped into a shallow perfect fit notch so a straight wedding band sits flush against the engagement ring on either side. The interior is comfort rounded.

Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What does perfect fit mean
The underside of the shoulders is hollowed into a shallow notch, so a straight wedding band slides into that recess and finishes flush against the engagement ring instead of stopping short and leaving a gap.

Do I have to buy your wedding band for it to fit
No. The notch accepts any straight band of ordinary width. We make a matching one because the metal and finish then agree exactly, but it is not a requirement.

What is a hidden halo
A ring of small diamonds set around the outside of the basket, below the girdle of the centre stone. It is invisible looking straight down at the ring and appears only in profile.

Why are the claw tips beaded
It is a detail borrowed from antique settings. A small bead at each tip catches a round highlight and softens what would otherwise be a squared off end.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, and by several sizes, because the shank carries no stones. The notch is reformed as part of the work.

How long does the ring take to make
Each ring is made to order and the halo is set by hand, so allow sixteen to twenty working days before dispatch.

Why buy a lab grown diamond

A plain shank leaves the oval completely exposed, so its colour and clarity are the whole ring. Lab grown material lets us set an E colour VVS2 stone of two to five carats in that position at a price mined goods of the same grade could not reach, with a traceable origin and no mining.
