Oval Cut Lab Grown Diamond Ring with a Hidden Halo and Pave Shoulders

A large elongated oval lab grown diamond in four claws, with a concealed halo running around the basket below the girdle and a row of micropave carried down both shoulders to meet it.

The two rows of small stones in this ring sit at right angles to each other, and that is what makes it work. The hidden halo lies flat under the oval, facing outward from the side of the ring, so it lights up whenever the hand is seen in profile. The shoulder pave lies along the top of the shank facing upward, so it lights up when the hand is seen from above. Between them there is no angle at which the ring goes quiet, and because the shoulder row runs right up to the basket and stops there, the two rows read as one continuous line that turns a corner rather than as two separate features. On an elongated oval this matters more than on a round stone, because the length of the oval leaves a long stretch of shoulder visible on either side of the head, and leaving that stretch plain makes the stone look stranded.

Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behaviour as a mined diamond and is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Does the hidden halo make the oval look bigger
Not from above, because it is concealed. It makes the head look taller and more finished in profile, which is where a large oval otherwise shows plain metal.

What is the bow tie in an oval diamond
A dark band across the middle of some ovals caused by the pavilion shading itself. We select stones cut to minimise it, which is part of why cut grade is specified as excellent.

Will the pave shoulders wear down
The stones are bead set below the metal edge and the shank is left plain where the finger curls, which is where most wear happens.

Can this ring be resized
Yes. The back of the shank is plain, so resizing does not disturb the pave.

How long does the ring take to make
Each ring is made to order. Allow fourteen to eighteen working days before dispatch.
