Two restraints define this ring, and both are about knowing when to stop. The pavé covers only the first half of each shoulder, ending in a clean squared finish rather than tapering away or continuing round the finger. That leaves the majority of the band as plain polished metal, which does something useful: the diamonds concentrate right where the eye already is, next to the centre stone, and the rest of the shank stays quiet. It also leaves the whole lower half of the band untouched, which makes sizing straightforward and keeps stones away from the part that takes the most wear. The second restraint is the head. There is no halo, hidden or visible, and no decoration in the gallery. It is a tall open basket with plain squared rails running between the four claws, a structure whose only job is to hold the stone up and let light through the sides. On a large oval that plainness matters: the setting frames the diamond without adding anything the eye has to account for.

Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Why stop the pave at half coverage
It concentrates the diamonds where the eye already is, beside the centre stone, and leaves the rest of the band quiet. It also keeps stones off the part of the shank that takes the most wear.

Is half coverage less impressive than full
It is a different intention. Full coverage makes the whole band sparkle; half coverage frames the centre stone and lets the metal show. Neither is more or less, and we can make this design either way.

What is an open squared basket
The structure beneath the stone is built from plain rails of squared section running between the four claws, with open sides. Its only job is to hold the stone up and let light through.

How is this different from your other pave solitaires
Others add a hidden halo, a compact collar, large stone pavé, or full eternity coverage. This one has no halo at all and stops the pavé at half the shoulder.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, easily. The entire lower half of the band is plain, which is exactly where a sizing cut is made.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it
Yes. The shoulders are level and nothing projects, so a straight band meets it cleanly on either side.

Why buy a lab grown diamond

With half the shank plain and no halo anywhere, this ring gives the centre stone very little help. It has to be well cut and clean to carry the design.
