An oval cut lab grown diamond held in six claws above two polished gold strands that twist around each other the whole way round, with marquise cut lab emeralds and marquise cut white diamonds set along them as alternating leaves.

The band on this ring is not a single shank. It is two separate strands of gold that cross over each other in a continuous open twist, so the ring is pierced with small openings all the way round and light passes through the shank itself. The strands are left plain and polished, with no pave anywhere on the band, and that is a deliberate choice. Marquise stones set flat against a plain bright strand read as leaves on a vine, while the same stones set against a fully paved band lose their outline in the surrounding sparkle. The leaves alternate as they travel, one lab emerald then one white diamond, each laid at a slight angle to the strand so the vine appears to be growing rather than repeating a pattern. They run the entire circumference rather than stopping at the shoulders, so the ring reads the same from every angle and there is no plain back to hide. Where the two strands meet under the centre stone they open out into a six claw head, and the claws themselves are drawn from the strands rather than added on top.

Band details

Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Are the emeralds real emeralds
They are lab created emeralds, chemically and optically the same beryl as mined emerald. They are cleaner and far more consistent in colour than mined material at this size.

How is this different from your other emerald leaf rings
One design places emerald sprigs only at the shoulders of a plain round band. Another sets its leaves along fully paved looping vines. This one has plain polished entwined strands with leaves running the entire circumference and no pave at all.

Are emeralds durable enough for daily wear
Emerald is 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, softer than diamond. These are small marquise stones set flush against the strand rather than raised, which is the safest way to wear emerald every day. Remove the ring for heavy work.

Can this ring be resized
Only slightly. Cutting an entwined twist band breaks both strands and disturbs the leaf spacing, so we prefer to remake the shank at the correct size.

Will the openings in the twist collect dirt
Less than a closed band, because an open twist has nowhere for residue to sit trapped. Rinse it in warm soapy water with a soft brush.

How long does the ring take to make
Two hand formed strands plus alternating emerald and diamond leaf settings, so allow twenty two to twenty six working days before dispatch.
